Do You Know Who You Are?

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." Hebrews 13:8

Are you lost? I'm lost. All these months of uncertainty have given me too much time to think to the point where I've become lost. Everything has changed, including you and me. But, without Christ, we don't know we are.

I've got to admit I'm lost, very lost, beyond lost. I don't know who I am, and my tolerance for uncertainty has become low. But there is beauty here.  I'm happy being lost. I'm glad I got lost because I finally had to ask myself, "Do I know who I am?" But that's not even the best part. The best part is that while I'm changing, going through all these emotions, the One who loves me the most remains the same.

Christ NEVER gets lost. Jesus is constant. He's always there even when we're lost and want nothing to do with Him. He's always wondering when we will look at ourselves and ask, "Do you know who you are?" and realize that we are HIS children.

It's okay to be lost and unrecognizable. It's okay because Christ knows precisely who you and I are because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Our identity and worth can't change because Jesus is constant; our identity is in Him!  So when you are unrecognizable and ask yourself, "Do you know who you are?" you can smile back and answer, "Yes, I am a child of God."

Don't stress. Don't become desperate. Yes, at times, we may get lost; however, Jesus, the Good Shepherd, will always find us and remind us that we are His.
