“God is love.”  1 John 4:16

I know this is early, but it Thursday morning in Africa and I won’t be near the internet when morning comes for you so… enjoy Valentine’s Day early!

What better reminder on Valentine’s Day when I think about “Love,” that I think about the best illustration of love- Jesus. “For God so loved… that he gave….” John 3:16

God IS love and He “demonstrated His love for us in that while I was still a sinner, Christ died for me.” Romans 5:8 Love is “othercenteredness;” love is giving more than getting. 1 Corinthians 13, the “love chapter” is full of descriptors of what love is and what’s it’s not:

Love is:

            Patient

            Kind

            Not jealous

            Not boastful

            Not arrogant

            Not rude

            Does not insist on its own ways

            Is not irritable or resentful

            Does not rejoice at wrong

            But rejoices in the right

Love:

            Bears all things

            Hopes all things

            Endures all things

            Never ends

My society and culture have messed up love so badly. WE need to fix it! SOOOO, check out ALL the Bible tells us about love and then—go “make love” to the whole world, by God’s definition!
