“If you possess these qualities in increasing measures you will…”   2 Peter 1:8

Some time back I wrote about verse 4, that through God’s promises I can:

  1. Partake of God’s divine nature, and
  2. Escape  the corruption in the world caused by evil desires

Peter’s letter continues with more amazing promises as I read on today. Because of those two above-mentioned gifts that come along with His promises, God communicated through Peter that we should then add to our character repertoire:

  1. Faith
  2. Goodness
  3. Knowledge
  4. Self-control
  5. Perseverance
  6. Godliness
  7. Brotherly kindness, and
  8. Love

And when I focus on those things in my life, because of His promises and all that results from believing them, three things happen:

  1. I will be effective and productive in my understanding of God
  2. I will never fall
  3. I will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I focus on trusting His promises and following His leading in how to live my life, and the results are literally out of this world!

Have a great day trusting and following,

Pastor Rich

Quote for the day:      “Instead of saying, ‘I don’t have time,’ try saying, ‘it’s not a priority,” and see how that feels. Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we don’t like how we’re spending an hour, we can choose differently.” Wall Street Journal

PS        “He’s Alive”- a weekend celebration at CVC of Jesus’ resurrection begins tonight with an Agape Feast and communion service in Heartland Hall starting at 6:30. All are welcome.
