Subject: It's April 8; Good Morning Union


“Love each other deeply…”    1 Peter 4:8

I was reading 1 Peter this morning and came across the verse that is referenced on a t-shirt I was given awhile back that says, “Chaplain America!” and it has 1 Peter 4:8-11 on it. It’s probably obvious my love for breaking down texts into bullet points. It helps me remember things better! So here are the “bullet points” from my Chaplain America shirt:

  1. Be clear minded
  2. Be self controlled (those two things are followed with “SO THAT you can pray.”
  3. Love each other deeply- because love covers a multitude of sins
  4. Offer hospitality without grumbling
  5. Use whatever gifts you have to serve others
  6. If you speak do it like you are speaking the very words of Christ
  7. When you serve, do it SO THAT God is glorified and not you

That pretty much summarizes the verses and my t shirt! It’s about making the best choices possible with the best motive possible SO THAT I can live the most blessed life possible. Chaplain America I am not; but God’s child I am. And He is so ready to bless me and guide me as I decide to let Him do the leading and let Him get the credit.

PPPS      We just heard from the principal at Nile Adventist Academy in Cairo. They are in need of numerous high school and elementary school teachers for next school year. If this interests you please come talk with me. It’s pretty late and you would have to do the on line orientation class, but it’s still possible if God leads you this direction.
