Friend of God

Beautiful People,

Who is your best friend and why? Who do you put your faith in the most? I have learned to put my faith in one person—Jesus Christ. Jesus is my friend, and by extension, I am a friend of God. I can rejoice with all the saints that came before me that; Jesus is my friend. This friendship was at a high cost! “For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of His Son while we were still His enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of His Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God” (Romans 5:10-11, NLT). My best friend is Jesus because of how He treated me when I was His enemy. I put my faith in Him because He gave everything for me to be reconciled to the Father.

Jesus is a true friend and Savior! You and I have an opportunity to rejoice in a new and excellent relationship with the Father because of Jesus the Christ. Because of Jesus, we are friends of God. No longer enemies, but friends, sons, and daughters of the King. So, how does this good news apply to us today? Well, the reality of it is that we can only receive this friendship through faith. Our belief in this new relationship radically transforms how we treat others. As an enemy of God, I treated my neighbors, those around me, like trash; however, as a friend of God, I treat my neighbors as precious individuals loved by a BIG GOD. How we view God radically controls how we do life. Today, I chose to view God as my friend and Savior.
