First of all, THANK YOU all from the city of Lincoln for your gift of participating in Project Impact yesterday. What an amazing day of giving back. 2600 hours of service!! I pray that you perpetuate that experience and make it a way of life.

“The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save.” Zephaniah 3:17

Tucked away in a little book by a pretty obscure minor prophet is a major promise- actually a three-fold promise that I have come to love. I’ve even turned it into my own person spiritual “rap!” which will NOT be shared with you or ever heard in public!!

The promise in the above mentioned verse is expanded in details of exactly how excited He is with me, and how mighty He really is to save me. Included in the verse are three promises of His power. Good old faithful Zephaniah says, “The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save:

He will take great delight in you
He will quiet you with His love
He will rejoice over you with singing”

Like a proud grandpa, I know He is with me, I know He is mighty to save; AND I am blessed when I remember that He does not just take delight in me, He takes GREAT delight in me. I am relieved of my stress when I know that He is there to “quiet me with His love.” And I am overwhelmed when I realize that the praise music of heaven, at least one of the songs, is focused on me as God “rejoices over me with singing.” I look forward to someday hearing the song that God wrote about me in His vast repertoire of praise songs for all His kids.

PS Family Worship 7:30pm in the church. This week we have a special guest that many of you are already being blessed by. Dr Neil Nedley, author of “Optomizing Your Brain,” will be speaking tonight and tomorrow for CVC worship service. With our focus continuing this week on taking care of yourself (remember uNourish!,) Dr Nedley will demonstrate the connections between your physical health and your mental, emotional, and spiritual health. It all ties together. Come discover important insights that can be a rich blessing to ALL of parts of you!

PPS Optomzing Your Brain”- is a total health program in which IRR, OTA, HHP, BCS, Psychology, and Math/Science students and staff are already actively involved. Did you know that Dr Nedley, our speaker this weekend is the author of this program? Come meet him In Heartland Hall at the church right after Family Worship. All are welcome. Meet and greet the author of your program.

PPPS Afterglo- We’ll have something for you every week after Family worship that provides a time of fellowship with a focus on enjoying the presence of each other and Jesus. Place varies each week and will be announced at Family Worship. This week Chantelle will be featuring the options available to you for joining a small group AND helping you learn more if you are interested in starting a small group.

PP..S Experienced in roofing and you’d like to help? Woodland Acres (the “park” that belongs to College View Church and located just west of Lincoln) is planning on reroofing their lodge and needs some help. This Sunday they’re tearing the old one off and then in a couple weeks they’ll be putting the new one on. If you would like to help just get a hold of me and I’ll connect you with the caretakers.
