“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”   Psalm 37:4

OK, before my imagination runs wild with possibilities with this spiritual “blank check,” I have to reign in my self-centeredness and realize that the qualifier for getting the “desires of my heart,” is that I will “delight myself in the Lord.” God will give me everything I need and even some of the things I want if my sole desire is to find delight in the Lord. He’s safe in making this offer because if I’m that focused on Him I’ll only want what is best for Him and not necessarily just for me. I’ve even written in the margin of my Bible, “because the desires of my heart will only be to delight the Lord!”

So, when I “delight myself in the Lord He will give me the desires of my heart, because the desires of my heart will only be to delight Him!” That’s still a pretty cool deal, to think of the possibilities in my life as I am focused on Him SO THAT He can focus on blessing me and giving me whatever it is that will bring Him delight. I like that.

Have a great day seeing what happens when you “delight yourself in the Lord,”

Pastor Rich

Quote for the day:     “Happiness is not about getting what you want all the time, it’s about loving what you have and being grateful for it.”
