Subject: It's April 17; Good Morning Union Special Sabbath Edition

"This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

Here’s what we have to help your rejoicing:

  1. Spend some quiet time with God
  2. Spend some quiet time with yourself
  3. Spend some quality time with friends
  4. Spend some special time in God’s house with His people
  5. “Shabat” (stop) and “Remember” (God made you and He saved you!)
  6. Then respond by doing something good for someone who can’t pay you back!

And that, my friends, is God’s Sabbath that I offer to you. including…

The Well- @ 10:40am in the Young Adult room at the Church. Join us as we fellowship, worship, and spend time in God’s word.

CVC- 9:15 and Noon. Pastor Harold will be speaking. Join us across the street or at one of the 6 other Adventist churches in the Lincoln area. Community is still a crucial part of the spiritual journey!

V2 @ 8:00pm in Woods Auditorium. Join us for 30 minutes as we bid farewell to the Sabbath this week with a special skit presented by a group of our students and their friends from CVA.

Have a blessed Sabbath doing good to all people because you spent time with God,

Pastor Rich

Quote for the day:      "The Sabbath is a day to let go, to stop trying to control people and situations…to respond to him rather than depending on your own abilities to make things happen." —Bill Gaultiere

And now my blog for the week:

Life's Tug of War

Life can seem ungrateful ~ and not always kind.

Life can pull at your heartstrings ~ and play with your mind.

Life can be blissful ~ and happy and free.

Life can put beauty ~ in the things that you see.

Life can place challenges ~ right at your feet.

Life can make good ~ of the hardships we meet.

Life can overwhelm you ~ and make your head spin.

Life can reward those ~ determined to win.

Life can be hurtful ~ and not always fair.

Life can surround you ~ with people who care.

Life clearly offers ~ its ups and its downs.

Life's days can bring you ~ both smiles and frowns.

Life teaches to take ~ the good with the bad.

Life is a mixture ~ of happy and sad.

So.....

Take the life that you have ~ and give it your best.

Think positive, be happy ~ let God do the rest.

Take all the challenges ~ life has laid at your feet.

Take pride and be thankful ~ for each one you meet.

To yourself give forgiveness ~ if you stumble and fall.

Take each day that is dealt you ~ and give it your all.

Take the love that you're given ~ and return it with care.

Have faith that when needed ~ it will always be there.

Take time to find beauty ~ in the things that you see.

Take life's simple pleasures ~ let them set your heart free.

The idea here is simply ~ to even the score.

As you are met and faced with ~ Life's Tug Of War.
