“The name of the Lord is a strong tower…”   Proverbs 18:10

“There’s something about that name!” That was the title of a “contemporary” song when I was much younger and the message still fits today. I’m not sure I fully understand what it is about “that name” but there is something. Solomon metaphorically equates it to a strong tower in my proverb for today.

I just Googled “name of the Lord,” and found 17 verses in one reference and 25 in another location. The Bible has a lot to say about the “name of the Lord.” But for this morning, as I give my last final and wrap up the semester, I just found strength and encouragement in the fact that His name IS a strong tower. AND “when I run to it I’m safe.” That how the proverb ends. Sometimes that’s all I need—the reminder of where to run to when I need safety and strength in facing life.

I hope you have a wonderful break. I look forward to see you ALL (except those who are graduating!) January 13 where we get a new start, a new semester, and a new opportunity to continue growing professionally and spiritually in our journey with Jesus.

Have a great day and a great break knowing where your strength and safety come from,

Pastor Rich
