4. “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord my Rock and my Redeemer.”   Psalm 19:14

My fourth verse is my daily commitment to Him. I asked Him to create a clean heart in me; I asked Him for a steadfast spirit; I asked Him to teach me His ways; to search deep in my soul; and I asked Him to lead me. And here’s what I offer to Him, my commitment to take the clean heart, the steadfast spirit, and the revelation of what He has shown me in my inner life, and use it all to make a difference for Him.

I want my heart to be pure and my spirit to be steadfast SO THAT the “mediations of my heart” all day long, will be reflecting those qualities. I want the searching and teaching that He has done in my life, because I asked Him, to be reflected in the “words of my mouth” all day long SO THAT they will all be “acceptable to Him” because HE is my Rock and my Redeemer.”

So the story goes, a man went to Budha and said, “I want happiness.” To which the Budha replied, “First remove the ‘I’- that’s ego; then remove the ‘want’- that’s selfishness. And now all you’re left with is happiness.” Budha had some great things to say, but my God has even greater guidance for my life IF I allow Him to lead me. This week I have shared what are currently the four verses that guide my prayers. I pray also that you will find yours as you grow in your connection with Him.

Have a great day praying God’s words back to Him,

Pastor Rich

Quote for the day:      “Before you speak—THINK:

            T          Is it true?

            H          Is it helpful?

            I           Is it inspiring?

            N          Is it necessary?

            K          Is it kind?

If “no” is the answer to any of these questions then it’s better left unsaid.”
