“Come now let us reason together, says the Lord…”             Isaiah 1:18

A second category from my dad’s list of texts that has anchored me solidly in my journey with God and through life’s challenges is the absolute forgiveness of God. His first verse illustrates the level of forgiveness He provides. I’ve seen it paraphrased as, “Let’s talk about this forgiveness thing. I know it doesn’t even sound reasonable and actually probably sounds like something too good to be true. But I promise you, I don’t care what you have done, I’ll forgive you. I don’t care how stained your life might be I’ll clean it up completely. As white as snow (how appropriate for today!) or as pure as 100% virgin wool, THAT is how clean I’m willing to make you if you let Me.”

I really have two primary choices; I can hang on to my guilt and let it consume me, OR I can accept the absolutely unreasonable offer of God and accept His forgiveness. The first will destroy me, the second will deliver me. Why is the choice so hard?

Have a great day discovering the joy of forgiveness,

Pastor Rich

Quote for the day: “Fact: Snow in October happens because people decorate for Christmas prematurely. You know who you are. Stop it!”
