“You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is steadfastly on You…”    Isaiah 26: 3,4

Yesterday I found rest; today I find peace, in my dad’s texts about absolute assurance in Jesus. The spiritual equation is quite clear, so it must be important to God. (remember my axiom? If it’s important to God, it’s clear in His word.) I not only can have “peace,” I can have “perfect peace.” And that “perfect peace” is not just for a moment, but I get to “keep it!” How cool is that?! “He will KEEP me in PERFECT PEACE….”

And the criteria for keeping perfect peace is as follows:

  1. Have a steadfast mind
  2. Have a trust that lasts forever

Never give up trusting Him, and always keep focused on Him. With that I get perfect peace. The added little “perk” from the Father, that I keep discovering in life, is that even if my mind is not always “steadfast,” and my trust doesn’t always perfectly “last forever,” He still, in His amazing mercy, grace and love, STILL is willing to give me a measure of peace. So even if I don’t have it all figured out, I still get a taste of the reward, which only motivates me to see how much more peace God wants to give me as I continue to focus my mind and establish my trust more and more in Him.

So, the verse ends, “Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord God is the Rock eternal.” He’s the Rock; He’s the Firm Foundation upon which to build my life. As I learn and grow that more and more, I experience more and more of His promised “perfect peace.”

Have a great day discovering the peace God wants to give you,

Pastor Rich
