Subject: It's April 15; Good Morning Union

Today is brought to you by the letter H, but before I go there I want to thank our church organist, Brent Shaw, for reminding me of a POWERFUL hymn that our own Dr Ricky Little shared for our Music Festival weekend—“God Almighty Is.” Thanks Brent

And now I continue with “H”:

Have I not commanded you, be strong and courageous, don’t be afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”      Joshua 1:9

He who dwells in shelter of the Most High, who abides in shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my shelter, my God in whom I trust.’”        Psalm 91:1

I cannot be strong unless I know the source of my strength and believe that strength is sufficient. In my younger years I used to think that meant things like lifting weights; as I have aged I’ve learned that strength comes more from knowing Who or What to lean on!

I still lift a few weights in my daily exercise routine but I continue to find my best strength in acknowledging that I can’t, but He can! I am “strong and courageous,” and I am not “afraid or dismayed” by what the world and life throws at me because I’m finding my strength in the assurance that God is with me “wherever I go.” I know “in whom I trust” and as I find my shelter in Him I find greater strength than having big enough muscles to “beat up” whoever or whatever gets in my way. I still want to be physically responsible while recognizing that spiritual strength has much more value! Check out my quote below!

Have a great day finding your greatest strength in Jesus,

Pastor Rich

Quote for the day: “Train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”                   1 Timothy 4:8

“Holy, Holy, Holy”       take your pick!
