“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young…” 1 Timothy 4:12
A verse I learned, at least the first part of the verse, and that I still believe in my life, maybe not because I am young anymore but because I continue to dedicate my life to those of you who are!!
I’ve seen it before but I was reminded of it again today. The first part of the verse is about my attitude; the second half is my action steps. Attitude- “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young.” Action steps- “but set an example to the believers in:
God calls me and to all those of you who are “young” to do more than believe in yourself and not let anyone discourage you. He also calls me to “prove” that I’m worthy of not being “looked down on.” I establish my spiritual credibility in the eyes of the critics by living my life as an example of what God calls me to be.
What if I reflected those five qualities in my life and in every decision about my life? What if those became my personal spiritual benchmarks for life? What if my speech, my life, my love, my faith and my purity were all the evidence I needed to provide that I am who I say I am and who I am is a follower of Jesus? What if..?
Have a great day proving that you, as a follower of Christ are worthy to be looked up to, not down on,

Quote for the day: “Chance is just a catch word for something we can’t explain”
PS Alumni weekend is a REALLY BIG DEAL for those who have attended “good old Union” in years gone by. Thanks for being your gracious selves as we share the campus with the grey hairs! Remember, THEY are the primary source of the financial support you get regularly in the form of scholarships. Their generosity and love for Union help keep us alive and vibrant. Thank one of them this weekend.
