"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand…For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’” ~ Isaiah 41:10, 13
Day 5 quarantined musings
We are again being reminded of the severity of this pandemic and the importance of EVERYONE complying with the goal of self-isolation. The US Surgeon General just said we will never beat this virus if all we do is treat the sick; we have to prevent the disease from spreading and that means EVERYONE cooperating and, as he says, “Act like you are already infected when you decide what public interaction you have.” It’s more than just washing my hands! We all need to make choices that are best for society, not just for me.
My journey with God, which I have developed in the good times, is what is giving me currently the focal point, my anchor, my strength. I plan to continue connecting FIRST with God and then with society. He is not infected with the virus so He is safe! He also understands the issues like how unfair this whole thing is because the way His Son died was equally unfair in the society He lived. Remember, HE wins in the end. How this particular battle will play out, I don’t know. But “I do know in Whom I believe, and I’m persuaded that HE IS ABLE to keep what I commit to Him.” (2 Timothy 1:12) The operative phrase is, “what I have committed to Him.” THAT is how I can maintain my stability through the chaos. I pray for each of you that you too find your anchor in Jesus, AND that you choose wisely in life. Keep washing your hands and keep distancing yourself from everyone necessary—except JESUS!!
Have a great day choosing wisely,
Pastor Rich
