My Heart's Desire

What are you chasing in life? What are you looking for to validate your worth? Our hearts are in a perpetual cycle of discontentedness. Even if we were to enter that relationship, get the job, graduate with the degree, buy that house, something would be missing. I propose that our issue is that we have a God-sized hole. God has placed eternity into our hearts! “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end” (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

We were made to live eternally with God. We were made for unconditional uninterrupted divine love. The singular purpose of our existence is oneness with God. Look at the beautiful prayer of our Savior, Jesus Christ, “that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me” (John 17:21). The invitation is open. Our hearts are yearning for something more profound than mere existence. Jesus is calling. He desires you and me to be whole in HIM. We will never find wholeness without Him.
