“The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save.” Zephaniah 3:17
I love this text. When I find myself repeating it I just have a little bounce in my cadence and a spring in my step. It actually energizes me to know that He’s with me and He’s capable of saving me. It’s a fun text.
And I especially like the last part. The result of knowing that He is with me and that He can totally save me, I see three other things He does for me that demonstrate His presence and His power:
Depending on my need, “He will delight over me” like a proud parent or doting grandparent. When I’m stressed “He will quiet me with His love,” and when my name comes up in heaven, there’s God “rejoicing over me with singing.” I wonder what that song sounds like? I’m sure it’s a praise song!!
When I draw those spiritual word pictures in my mind I have a sense of security and safety that only a God of love can provide.
So in the throws of all the confusion and chaos of the world right now, I can’t forget—God IS with me, He IS mighty to save, He DOES take great delight in me, He WILL quiet me with His love, and He WILL rejoice over me with singing. And I’m guessin’, He’ll do the same for you if you want. No I’m not “guessin’;” I know He will! That’s just the way my God is!
