Subject: It's November 21; Good Morning Union (retry!)
I'm in Pohnpei and I tried something different with the two GMUs I sent from here. Apparently I did something wrong with this one or the one for Friday because I heard back that something did not come through. So I'm sendingThursday again right now before I send Friday's. Sorry for the confusion.
“Be exalted O Lord, in your strength; we will sing and praise your might.” Psalm 21
Greetings from Pohnpei and our 6 SMs here!! I WON’T tell you how warm it is here! But it is worth “singing and praising the Lord” as my psalm for this morning suggests!
5 more psalms today, November 21—Psalm 21, 51, 81, 111, 141
Psalm 51 is a great song that I learned long ago as David’s response when he was called out by the prophet Nathan for the terribly terrible thing he had done with Bathsheba and to Uriah her husband. It’s a great place to turn when I need to remember how to respond when I’ve messed up. “Have mercy on me, O God- wash me… cleanse me… recreate in me… restore me…. God can do all of that and more IF I’m willing to confess and turn away from the bad choices in life. “He who conceals his sin does not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them WILL find mercy.” (Proverbs 28:13)
Psalm 81, like 21 focuses on singing and making music BECAUSE God saves. THAT is why I love praise and worship time at Family Worship each Friday night. I can’t help but be blessed because we sing about (and to) Jesus for all He has done for us. It brings me great joy!
Have a Joy-filled day as you remember God’s goodness to you,
Pastor Rich
