Subject: GMU from Sir Buell Fogg

Good morning, Union!

Ask any student that has ever been on ministry trips with me and they will all tell you the same thing: Buell does not do fast food. No Taco Bell, no McDonalds, no Burger King and on and on. No sir! If we are going to eat we are going to sit down like gentlemen and savor the experience. Fast Mexican food to a Mexican food purist from San Antonio just doesn't cut it. Sorry folks, it is just not my culinary gig.  Dining on fine cuisine is one of the joys of life in which we all delight. Just think of the foods that really excite you and the times that you look back on with fondness and express, "Boy, was that good!"

While I was growing up, family meals were special in that we all ate together. I tried to practice the same thing with my own children and there was a special bond that developed. Potlucks, special meals of celebration are something that we all have enjoyed and experienced. Let's face it, feasting fabulously with family and friends is fortuitous and fun.

One of the texts of the Bible that I have taken to heart is found in Proverbs 15:15. Right smack dab in the middle of the book Solomon tells us: "A cheerful heart has a continual feast." I don't even have to elaborate a whole lot on that. It is pretty straightforward. Think of the people you enjoy the most. Aren't they cheerful and high on life? I want to live my life like that so others can enjoy the feast as well. Jesus said, "I have come so that they can have life and have it to the full." Others may never read the Bible but they will read you and your approach to life. Enjoy it to the max, my friends, and let the feasting continue.

May your day be great with cheer!
