“…seek the Lord your God, you will find Him if…”     Deuteronomy 4:29

Moses continues his pleading (from yesterday’s GMU)—"PLEASE, children of Israel, don’t give up, keep searching.” The context of the verse prophesies that they will actually go the other direction and drift from God. But when they realize the errors of their ways they will return. And the evidence of their decision to return will be a decision to obey. That’s what verse 30 said to me this morning.

And the reasons given in verse 31 to turn, or to return to God are:

    1. He is a merciful God
    2. He will not abandon them
    3. He will not destroy them
    4. He will not forget the covenant He made with them.

No matter if I have fallen away, forgotten Him temporarily, gotten distracted from prioritizing Him highly in my life, or just flat out am rebelling from Him, God is faithful, He is merciful, He is protective, and he always remembers His agreement to His children. “I will never leave you or forsake you.”

Moses saw a pretty clear picture of the God that is worth serving and obeying and following. He is faithful to me; I must choose to be faithful to Him.

Have a great day in faithfulness,

Pastor Rich

Quote for the day:      “If God has done what you think He should do, trust Him. If God doesn't do what you think He should do, trust Him. If you pray and believe God for a miracle and He does it, trust Him. If your worst nightmare comes true, believe He is sovereign. Believe He is good.”             Craig Groeschel

We need to keep breaking down the stigma of mental health and of reaching out for help. You will start to see lawn signs around campus this week with encouraging messages as well as information on how to contact someone for help. No one should struggle alone!

At Union College, Active Minds, is committed to raising awareness about mental health and helping others know where they can access resources. This is an issue every college is challenged with and we are committed to changing the conversation about mental health on our campus. To support Active Minds click on the QR Code:
