“… Is this not what it means to know Me?”   Jeremiah 22: 15,16

I’d like to know Jesus better! Maybe you would too. I’d also like for things to go well in my life. Maybe you are with me on this one as well. I found a text this summer, as I walked and memorized verses, that was a renewed reminder of my axiom—“If it’s important to God, it’s clear in His word.”

Jeremiah suggests four things that when I do them, “all will go well with me,” and they define what it means to “know God.”

  1. Do what is right
  2. Do what is just
  3. Defend the cause of the poor
  4. Defend the cause of the needy.

Those four things define what it means to “know Me,” and the result of doing so meant that “all went well with him.”

Here’s the whole verse:

“He did what was right and just, so all went well with him. He defended the cause of the poor and needy, so all went well with him. Is this not what it means to ‘know Me?’” To “know God” is to do what is right and just and to defend the cause of the poor and needy. And when I do those things life will go well.

If it’s important to God it’s clear in His word—Four things promise a good life and a more complete picture of God.

Have a great day “knowing God” and being blessed,

Pastor Rich
