Dear campus family,
I’m so glad each of you are back at Union this spring. And even though we’ve had some challenges thanks to Omicron, we’re off to a great start. Here are a few updates about how Union is dealing with COVID.Mask mandate extended
Union originally announced an indoor mask mandate through January 24, but the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health department has issued a county mask mandate until February 11. Union will follow that mandate and will reevaluate the need for indoor masking when the county lifts its mandate.
Because we’ve had a number of cases of COVID on campus over the past two weeks, it is very important that you keep your mask on at all times except for these exceptions:
- In your residence hall room or alone in your office
- While actively eating at a table in Union Market
- While actively exercising or in the pool at Larson Lifestyle Center
- If participating on the court in a Warrior official practice or game
- While actively eating at indoor club or SA events that provide food
Warrior basketball games
The Warrior basketball season has NOT been cancelled. The Athletic Department has canceled and rescheduled some games because of COVID cases either on our team or the opposing team. But the season will continue as scheduled barring additional interference from COVID.
Stop the spread by reporting your symptoms
Remember, if you feel sick at all—even just a sore throat or runny nose—please don’t spread it to others. In order to help keep us from having to cancel activities and move classes online, you must follow these steps:
- Don’t go to class or work.
- Report your symptoms at ucollege.edu/health
- (You may not be excused from classes if you don’t report your symptoms.)
- Schedule a COVID test right away. Click here for options.
- Submit your test results at ucollege.edu/health
- Stay quarantined in your room or at home until Campus Health (or Human Resources for employees) releases you.
Remember, you can read all of Union’s COVID policies and information at ucollege.edu/covid. If you have questions, please email covid@ucollege.edu
Blessings to you,
Vinita Sauder
