Campus family,
I hope your summer is going well. We are excited to begin working toward opening the campus back up for on-campus classes and have you all back with us this fall.
But first, our COVID-19 Taskforce is announcing some new policy changes for the summer while we’re still in our current “Open Limited” status. The changes are as follows:
- Students, you will be allowed to return to campus and live in the residence hall if you have been hired for an on-campus summer job. You’ll still need to apply to return to the dorm, but you won’t be asked to quarantine as long as you have not been ill, traveled internationally, or been exposed to a known case of Covid-19 in the last two weeks.
If you want to get a campus job, take a look at our job board or contact work supervisors directly. Once you have been hired, fill out the Request to Return - Summer 2020 form to get permission to move into the residence hall.
- All employees are welcome to return to work as needed. If your job allows, you may still work remotely with permission from your supervisor.
Students, since we are still in a limited posture in terms of our campus status, please do not come to campus except for on-campus work. You may also visit for reasons related to a class or registration—such as getting forms signed—but we request that you call or email for an appointment first so that we expect you and can provide the best service.
We are under directed health guidelines from our county health department, so we will require anyone on campus to continue regular hand washing, maintain social distancing, and not congregate in groups of more than 10. We also ask that everyone keep a mask with them and wear it when social distancing is not possible.

We expect our campus status to change over the summer as we approach the fall semester, so watch for announcements. The COVID-19 Taskforce is working hard to solidify plans for the fall and we’ll be announcing these plans in the coming weeks.
Blessings to you,
Vinita Sauder
