Campus family,
Even though a COVID vaccine might soon be available, experts tell us it will take months before the vaccine is distributed and widely taken by the population. Because of this, we are planning for second semester with the same COVID precautions as this semester in order to continue in-person classes.
One safeguard we will implement is an adjustment to the spring schedule. We will begin and end the semester on the originally scheduled dates (January 11 - May 5), and the plan includes some three-day weekends—such as the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday weekend.
However, instead of having a regular spring and winter break, we will spread those break days out throughout the semester. This will give you time off from classes, but encourage everyone to stay close to campus in order to limit the spread of coronavirus and ensure the health and safety of our campus community.
Here are the break days for Spring 2021:
- January 18 (Monday) — Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- February 12 (Friday)
- February 25 (Thursday)
- March 12 (Friday)
- March 23 (Tuesday)
- April 5 (Monday)
- April 21 (Wednesday)
You can also see the spring schedule by checking out the major events list for 2020-2021 at ucollege.edu/academics/schedules#calendar or on the campus calendar at ucollege.edu/calendar
Thank you for continuing to work together for everyone’s safety.
Blessings,
Vinita Sauder
