Returning to Lincoln, where violinist Breanna Thornton spent her high school years, she presents a collaborative recital with pianist Gustavo do Carmo on Sunday, November 10, 5:30 pm at the Union College Engel Recital Hall. She hopes to see old family friends so please come out and enjoy an hour of music. Currently, Breanna and Gustavo are doctoral candidates at the University of Iowa. Gustavo do Carmo is an active soloist, jazz, and collaborative pianist, performing with choirs, orchestras, singers, instrumentalists, and dancers in Brazil and the United States. He also works as a piano teacher and rehearsal pianist. Breanna is a chamber musician, conductor, and pedagogue, and member of the Global Leader's Program 2020 Cohort--using music for social change. In 2014-15, she spent nine months in Thailand at Peace Music Academy, as a student missionary, drafting policies and teaching music lessons for the budding music school. FREE Concert.
